Personal Review of the Pyle Sports PSCHD60 Action Cam

There was a Woot deal for the Pyle PSCHD60 Full HD Action Cam so I figured I would go ahead and get one. My favorite color is blue so I picked the blue version. I already have a GoPro Hero2 and GoPro Hero3+ Black Edition. The Pyle Sports action cam was a lot cheaper so I was curious to how the quality would stack up against the GoPros. Based on specs alone the Pyle PSCHD60 is sort of a cross between the GoPro Hero3+ white and silver editions. I didn’t know what to expect because the Pyle PSCHD60 had just recently …

Learning JSP: A Retrospective

I’ve been in the world of programming for a while now and it is funny how there are always new terms or acronyms. I started learning Java when it was first introduced. It was a major headache back then because it was a new language and they were trying to figure out best practices with each release. Functions and classes were quickly deprecated and you kept having to learn the new way to do things. This turned me off of Java for a long time. As the language matured a little, they came out with JSP. Since I was heavily …

Shakeology: Another Tool to Help on Your Fitness Journey

Although I have always been fitness focused, I have never been a fan of protein shakes or supplements. I tend to like doing things in the most natural way possible. Why I Would Not Buy a First Texas Home

I’m not going to say that First Texas Homes sucks because I am not wanting this to be a bashing. In fact I had liked what I saw from First Texas Homes. I liked the neighbors that I found them in and liked a lot of their floor plans. When I visited the model homes I also liked the style and quality that they displayed. In fact my girlfriend and I had picked out a lot and home to buy with them. Unfortunately the customer service that we experienced with them left a really bad taste in my mouth. About …

Flexbox Resources

Over the past month I’ve had a couple of unique problems in the web development world. It has been awhile since I’ve been able to come up with some out of the box solutions. Luckily for me CSS has come a long way and I was able to accomplish my problems using flexbox. Here are two of my codepens that have the details: Flexbox Fluid Rows with Dynamic Height using Flexbox Fixed header and footer without fixed position using Flexbox Content div with an inner dynamic header and scrollable content using Flexbox Flexbox is not widely used but is supported pretty well …

Using Flexbox to Create Fluid Grid with Equal Heights in Rows

Recently I dealt with an interesting challenge with how to create a layout for a particular scenario. I had a webpage that displayed products in tiles. I needed the tiles of a certain width but needed the tiles to automatically wrap to the next line based on screen width. The tiles also needed to have the same height as the tallest tile in that row. The page was originally setup using a ul as the parent container and then the li elements to  actually hold the tile data. The li elements floated left to have a fluid grid. This was fine when …
