Snowboarding Mt. Baker

Had a chance to make it up to Seattle this year and snowboard at Mt. Baker. I had heard a lot of good things about how good the powder normally was on Mt. Baker. Unfortunately this year has been a bad year. We got there and there were few trails open on the mountain and it was very rainy. We still managed to have fun, but we definitely had to make the best of a bad situation. Here are some pics: You can see the full album on my Facebook page.

Meal Replacement Shakes: Shakeology vs AdvoCare Trim

After comparing Shakeology to Herbalife’s Formula 1 , it got me curious on how Shakeology stacks up to other meal replacement shakes. I recently have heard some talk about AdvoCare’s Trim Meal Replacement Shakes. I know AdvoCare has been around awhile, but the only product I knew was their Spark energy drink. I knew they did other products geared toward sports, but didn’t really think of them as a nutrition or weight loss company. It’s funny because they are a company geared toward nutrition, energy, and weight-loss. Cost Again we see that Shakeology is more expensive, but not by much. The retail …

Insanity Classes Now At American Indoor Sports in Carrollton

My girlfriend, Anna Turos got into Beachbody last year. She liked the nutrition guides as well as the workout programs. She became really involved in it and wanted to help people so she decided to become a coach. Since she was so interested in Beachbody, I helped her research different things. I wanted to make sure everything was legit and that it would help her to reach her goals. I was pleasantly surprised with what I discovered and soon got involved by signing up for Shakeology as well as the P90X3 program. Last year my interests were very scattered for a lot of …

K2 Cinch CTS Snowboard Binding Review

My girlfriend got me a new snowboard right before our first trip of the season as an early Christmas gift. I wanted to take my old board and the new one on the trip. The original plan was just to use my old bindings for each board. I could just switch out the bindings from board to board, but I’m very lazy. So I decided to get new bindings, the K2 Cinch CTS Snowboard Binding. I was very impressed with them and absolutely love my purchase. Here is my review I wrote up and submitted to the online seller. Originally submitted …

P90X3 Block 1 Results

It was a rough go with Block 1 of P90X3 because of the holidays, but I actually made some progress through it. It took longer than the typical 4 weeks because of all the travel, events, and reasons that came up to miss a workout. I ended up doing all the workouts though and still feel like it did some good. One area I can see the most improvements is the pull-ups. I can do more and can sustain that for a longer period of time. With the new year, I’ve focused my efforts and have stayed on track and …

Initial Thoughts on the Paleo Diet

Lately I’ve been hearing a lot about the Paleo Diet. It is a diet that has been around a long time, but seems to have picked up a lot of steam this past year. Since I have been wanting to learn more about nutrition I thought I would look into it. It turns out this diet almost matches how I have been eating for years. My diet is really high in meats and low in pretty much anything else. The Paleo Diet encourages high protein and fat amounts while taking in very little carbs. It also encourages eating more natural foods …
