Change, Change, and More Change

It seems like my life lately is a never-ending process of change. I’m not sure if it is because I don’t have a handle on what I really want, can’t find what I really want, or just that life keeps getting in my own way. Whatever the reason is, I’ve gotten really good at adapting and rolling with the punches. I do miss having more consistency in my life though.

The current change is trying to find another place to live. I’ve outgrown my apartment I got downtown after my marriage fell apart. So instead of spending a butt load to get a bigger place downtown I decided to try to rent a house in the ‘burbs with my good friend Stephen. He was thinking of changing his living situation as well, so it seemed like a good idea.

Unfortunately the process of finding a place to rent has been a lot harder than I thought. I knew it wasn’t going to be like shopping for groceries where I just pick what I want and get it, but I didn’t think it would be this hard. It seems that the rental market is doing well, probably because the buying market sucks so bad. This means houses aren’t staying on the rental market long. Every time I find a house I like, it has been rented before I can turn in my application.

To counteract this, I’m going to look at houses in the middle of the day. Hopefully I can find something before someone can snake it. I really need to find something soon though because my lease is up May 26th. I know I’m cutting it close, but I really did start looking over a month ago.

Well with any luck I’ll find a house soon and then the parties can begin!!!

I was originally born in Missouri, but traveled around most of my childhood. My mom finally got tired of moving while we were in Dallas, Texas and I have been here ever since. After high school I started college at the University of North Texas (UNT) and started working in the computer field. I currently work for JCPenney as a front end software engineer for their e-commerce website. Before this I worked for AT&T about 12 years and started with them in 1999 (when they were Southwestern Bell). I have many passions and I really love photography. Besides photography I also love sports. I not only like to watch it, but I also love to play. Currently my friends and I play indoor soccer and flag football.
