Simultaneously Post Status Updates to Facebook, Google+, and Twitter
It use to be simple when there was just one major social networking site to keep up with. Now there are more and more people who use one or more of the major sites. The top three that people seem to be using are Facebook, Google+, and Twitter. It was such a hassle trying to update all three that I found myself only updating Facebook regularly.
This didn’t sit well with me because I had some people who checked Twitter or Google+ more often than Facebook so they were left out of the loop. Luckily Twitter came up with a Facebook app that integrating the postings. So I could post once to twitter and it would automatically update my Facebook status. This was very convenient but still left out Google+.
I thought Google or someone else would come up with something almost immediately. After all Google was trying to hijack some of the users from Facebook. What better way than to provide a seamless transition of being able to post to both places till enough of their friends switched over to Google? Unfortunately this wasn’t the case.
While I continued searching for something that would post to all my social networking sites at the same time, I finally stumbled upon iStatus+ for the iPhone. It was exactly what I was looking for. It allows you to write your status update once and then it posts it to Facebook, Google+, and Twitter.
I was hoping to find a free app , but iStatus+ only costs $.99 so it was worth it to be able to easily manage my social networking updates. Since the app is fairly new it is somewhat limited. Right now you can only post status updates. You can’t do multiple check-ins or upload photos. I’m hoping those features are on the developers to do list. Since I mainly update my status it isn’t too much of a big deal, just something that would make my life a little easier.
Currently the app seems to be having issues with updating Google+. I have contacted the creator and he said he is aware of the issue and already has a fix. They are just waiting for the Apple app store to approve the update.
