Review: Perry’s Steakhouse in Frisco

My lovely Valentine and I at Perry's Steakhouse celebrating Valentine's Day.
My lovely Valentine and I at Perry’s Steakhouse celebrating Valentine’s Day.

At the end of last year during my lunches at work, I noticed that they were building a new steakhouse by the Stonebriar Mall. I love steakhouses so this intrigued me. As it neared completion I noticed it was a Perry’s Steakhouse. I had not heard of Perry’s before so I had to look it up. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was a quality steakhouse that started in Houston.

So for this Valentine’s Day I decide that I would take my girlfriend there. I actually made the reservations for the day after Valentine’s Day so we could pick off the full menu. I don’t like the restricted menus places have gone to for special occasions.

Appetizer

Perry's Homemade Polish Sausage

Homemade Polish Sausage

Since my girlfriend is Polish, we decided to start the night with homemade Polish sausage. It was a generous portion served with home smoked barbeque sauce, mustard and club crackers. We went to take bites and both thought it was incredibly tasty.

It was the best Polish sausage that I have had in a long time. I loved it dipped in the barbecue sauce. It definitely was a great compliment to the meat.

Main Course

Prime Ribeye

Being a big meat-eater and a huge fan of steaks, I decided to get the Prime Ribeye. I ordered mine medium. Like most high-end steak places, the meal did not come with any side items. You could add side items served family style à la cart. I chose the roasted cream corn and Whipped Potato Puree. I figured I could share with my girlfriend.

First off the steak was very top-notch. It was very flavorful and a great cut. Also at 14oz it was a good size. I was a little disappointed with the cream corn though. It wasn’t very creamy and also included bell peppers. I’m normally like my corn just to have corn. I did like the potatoes though. They were very smooth and had a very good taste. I would definitely recommend them.

Grilled Salmon

Perry's Grilled SalmonMy girlfriend isn’t a big steak eater, so she decided to go with the Grilled Salmon. It was served with grilled asparagus and beurre fondue. She was a trooper though and helped me with the sides I ordered.

She loved her choice and said it was delicious. She liked the way the outside was crusted and the inside still cooked perfectly. She enjoyed the taste of everything we had at Perry’s. I had the same opinion with the only one difference being the cream corn.  It wasn’t to my liking but she thought it was very good.

Conclusion

My experience with Perry’s Steakhouse and Grille exceeded my expectations. I have been to most of great steakhouses in Dallas such as III Forks, Bob’s, and The Capital Grille to name a few and would rate Perry’s near the top. III Forks is still my favorite, but I think Perry’s is on par with any of the others. Since this is a high-end steakhouse, the menu is a little pricey but I feel it is definitely worth it.

I was originally born in Missouri, but traveled around most of my childhood. My mom finally got tired of moving while we were in Dallas, Texas and I have been here ever since. After high school I started college at the University of North Texas (UNT) and started working in the computer field. I currently work for JCPenney as a front end software engineer for their e-commerce website. Before this I worked for AT&T about 12 years and started with them in 1999 (when they were Southwestern Bell). I have many passions and I really love photography. Besides photography I also love sports. I not only like to watch it, but I also love to play. Currently my friends and I play indoor soccer and flag football.
