Moving is Such a Pain

The new house will provide me more room for my photography studio setup.

I’ve taken a little time away from posting to my blog because I’ve been moving. I actually have a lot of posts I’m wanting to write, but haven’t had time or an internet connection. Moving sucks!

I just recently moved from my uptown apartment to Lewisville. I moved into the apartment after my separation and have outgrown it in the 2 years I was there. I needed more space but didn’t want to pay the premium for living downtown. So I decided to move into a house with my friend.

It took awhile to find a house that didn’t get snatched up and that would work in the locations we were going for, but I finally found one. I like the floor-plan of the house for the most part because everything is so open. It will give me plenty of room for my photography work.  Plus the house has a gas stove. That is good for me because I love cooking!

So after moving all weekend my internet was installed at the house this past Monday. Since the house is in Verizon territory, I went with Verizon Fios. I got the 25Mbps download/25Mbps upload plan. I’m really looking forward to the speeds! I previously had AT&T U-Verse with 20Mbps download but only 3Mbps upload.

With my internet connection up and running, I am now just waiting on my desk to arrive to set up all my computer equipment. There is always so much to set up after a move. I have the rest of the house pretty much setup and just have a little bit left at my old apartment. It will feel like home once everything is set up and I can just relax.

Well I just wanted to give a little update on what’s been happening in my life. I’ll post more regularly once I get settled in.

I was originally born in Missouri, but traveled around most of my childhood. My mom finally got tired of moving while we were in Dallas, Texas and I have been here ever since. After high school I started college at the University of North Texas (UNT) and started working in the computer field. I currently work for JCPenney as a front end software engineer for their e-commerce website. Before this I worked for AT&T about 12 years and started with them in 1999 (when they were Southwestern Bell). I have many passions and I really love photography. Besides photography I also love sports. I not only like to watch it, but I also love to play. Currently my friends and I play indoor soccer and flag football.
